We’re back with another client spotlight! These are my favorite episodes, and I’m so excited for you to hear Steph’s story.
I have been talking to Steph for a couple months now about getting her on the podcast because she’s just had such an awesome experience and seen such great progress. She’s so inspiring that I think you will love hearing from her.
Steph is a mom of 2 girls, teaches in a respiratory therapy program and lives on a farm with goats, cows, chickens…the whole thing.
Her journey with fitness and wellness has been a long one.
Steph says she was an athlete through middle school and high school and later fell in love with CrossFit. She loved feeling strong, but always struggled with the nutrition side of things.
She looks back now and can identify self-sabotaging habits and emotional eating patterns that kept her in the struggle.
After having her daughters, Steph says she felt so sad because she had been putting herself last for so long.
She came to coaching for a way to put herself first and show up for herself every day. She says she knew what to do, but she wasn’t doing it. She needed accountability.
She also wanted to be supported by someone who understood different approaches to health and weight loss and who could help me to see the patterns and the things outside of myself that I wasn’t always aware of.
COVID played a role, too, particularly with higher stress at work in the healthcare/education industry and the closing of her gym.
She realized that there won’t be a perfect time to start and is so thankful to herself now that she did it.
“[In] my 12-week one-to-one coaching, I had vacations, birthdays, events come up, where I knew that things weren’t going to be perfect. And it really helped me to develop resiliency and being okay with not being perfect. And accepting that it’s lifelong. I will get to my goals. I know I will eventually…That was probably the biggest takeaway for me.”
We dig into perfectionism, confidence, the power of taking just the one next step and so much more good stuff in this interview!
