When most women start working toward a health goal—especially weight loss—they want to see the number on the scale go down.
It makes sense. We want some kind of confirmation that what we’re doing is working.
But here’s the thing: the scale isn’t always the first to show progress. And if that’s the only thing you’re looking at, you might feel like nothing’s happening—even when it is.
The real first sign of progress?
You stop saying, “I know what to do, I’m just not doing it.”
You actually do the thing.
You follow through.
You go for the walk you planned.
You prep the meals you said you would.
You get to bed when you told yourself you would.
It’s not about being perfect or suddenly doing everything right. It’s about doing what you said you were going to do—consistently enough that it starts to feel normal.
That shift is what builds trust in yourself. And that trust is what allows you to stay consistent long enough to see the changes you’re looking for.
So if you’ve started following through more often—even in small ways—that’s your sign.
It’s working.
And it’s only going to keep getting better from here.
